Landing Page vs Website: Which One Does Your Business Need?

They sound the same but do different jobs. What a landing page is for, what a website is for, Pakistani pricing for each, and when you need both.

A customer asks for "a website" and means five different things depending on who is asking. One of the most common confusions is landing page versus website: they sound similar, they are built for completely different jobs, and choosing wrong wastes money. Here is the difference and which one your business actually needs.

What a landing page is

A landing page is a single page built for one purpose: get the visitor to do one thing. Buy this product, book this service, download this, call this number. Everything on it pushes toward that one action. No menu, no other pages, no distractions.

When you run ads on Facebook or Google, the ad should land on a landing page, not your homepage, because the page exists solely to convert that specific click.

What a full website is

A website is the whole package: homepage, about, services, products, blog, contact. It is your permanent address on the internet, where people go to learn who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. It is built to inform and build trust over time, not convert one ad click.

Which one you need

You need a landing page when:

  • You are running paid ads for a specific offer.
  • You have one product or service to promote.
  • You want to test an offer before building a full site.
  • You need something live fast for a campaign.

You need a full website when:

  • You want customers to find you on Google organically.
  • You offer multiple services or products.
  • You want a permanent, credible business presence.
  • People need to learn about you before they will buy.

Most established businesses need both: a website for the long game, landing pages for specific campaigns.

What each costs in Pakistan

  • Landing page: PKR 15,000 to 60,000 depending on design and features.
  • Business website: PKR 60,000 to 250,000+ depending on size and quality.

A landing page is a smaller scope and a smaller price for that reason, not because it is a cheaper version of a website.

The mistakes people make

  • Sending ad traffic to the homepage, where visitors wander off instead of converting.
  • Paying for a full website when all they needed was one page for a campaign.
  • Building a landing page so thin it cannot rank or convert.
  • Expecting a landing page to do a website's job long-term.

The honest version

If you are running ads, build a landing page for the campaign. If you want a business that exists properly online, build a website. If you are doing both, they work together: the site builds trust and ranks, the landing pages convert your paid traffic.
